PROCESSOR
The processor (or CPU) can be defined as the brain of the computer. It is the chief component that handles all information and performs your computers commands. KEYBOARD
This is the core input device of your laptop. They are usually used to in put commands on the computer, or to put it in a simple form, used as the machine the user can use to “talk” to the computer.
OTHER COMPONENTS
The other components of a laptop are as follows- CD/DVD optical drive, LCD screen, video card and the wireless network card. The CD/DVD optical drive enables you to read and put in writing data from/to a CD or DVD disc. The video card is a development card that enables the computer to convey graphical presentation through the LCD screen, while the audio board manufactures the sound that is heard through the laptops speakers. Where to begin…I’ve been browsing newegg for laptops, and I see many within my price range that are very similar. Brands range from HP to Acer, to Asus, to Toshiba, and all have similar components. Does anybody have an idea as to what could help me break the stalemate?
Also, some other information I was looking for…
CPU – AMD or Intel? Also, I want something around 2.0GHz dual-core, but does anybody know if the extra .5 or so is really that necessary?
Graphics card – I was seeing the NVIDIA GeForce 8600 a lot, but the 9500 was also surfacing, is there really a big difference?
Hard Drive – I was actually torn between getting a 320 GB hard drive at 5400 rpm, or getting a dual 120 GB at 7200 rpm. Any suggestions?
Communications: Anybody have an idea what’s the best WLAN out there right now? For an example, i’m seeing 802.11a/g/n. What does this mean?
Memory -I’ve heard that to get 4GB, you need the Vista 64-bit version, which is runout with compatibility issue

It really depends what you’re going to be using the computer for. I’d go for HP, but it’s up to you.
To answer your extra questions:
AMD. Intel isn’t that great, and the extra .5 ghZ can REALLY help.
Sorry, don’t know much about graphics cards.
If you’re into fast file transfers, copying, cutting, moving, and all that, then get the 120GB at 7200 rpm HD. If you need the space, just get the 320, cause it’s not a HUGE difference,
I don’t know much about wireless cards either, sorry.
I heard that too, and I ordered a dell Inspiron 1525 and it should ship today. It has 4gb RAM and it never said anything about 64 bit, so they might have fixed that.
